The Dental Barns

About this service

The Dental Barns is a private dental practice at Blackbrook Barns near Lichfield, offering considered cosmetic and restorative dentistry for adults from across Staffordshire and the West Midlands, including Sutton Coldfield, Tamworth and Birmingham. Led by Principal Dentist Dr Keely Thorne, we bring together personalised treatment planning, modern digital dentistry and a calm, unhurried experience. Whether you are considering a subtle improvement or a more comprehensive smile transformation, our focus is on natural-looking results that suit you, supported by careful attention to your dental health. COSMETIC DENTISTRY, DESIGNED AROUND YOU Your smile is personal. We take time to understand what you would like to change, explain your options and help you make an informed decision. Our cosmetic dental treatments include Invisalign® clear aligners, composite bonding, composite veneers, e.max® porcelain veneers and Enlighten® teeth whitening. Treatment may involve one approach or a carefully planned combination, depending on your goals, oral health and suitability. From refining the shape of individual teeth to improving alignment, colour and overall balance, we aim to create results that feel naturally yours. RESTORATIVE DENTISTRY AND LONG-TERM CARE If worn, damaged or heavily restored teeth are affecting your comfort or confidence, we can help you explore a personalised restorative treatment plan. We consider the health of your teeth and gums, your bite and your existing dentistry alongside the appearance of your smile. Our approach brings cosmetic and restorative care together, with clear explanations of the recommended treatment, its sequence and costs. Dental hygiene care, including Guided Biofilm Therapy with EMS AIRFLOW®, supports the ongoing care of your teeth and gums. A CALMER EXPERIENCE FOR NERVOUS PATIENTS We understand that visiting the dentist can feel difficult, particularly after an uncomfortable experience or time away from dental care. You will find a welcoming team who listen without judgement, explain each stage and take your concerns seriously. Set within a characterful barn setting, the practice has been thoughtfully designed to feel peaceful and inviting. Soft lighting, a comfortable patient lounge, calming music and noise-cancelling headphones are among the details chosen to help you feel more at ease. DIGITAL DENTISTRY WITH A PERSONAL TOUCH Digital scans, clinical photography and appropriate dental imaging help us build a detailed understanding of your smile and explain our findings clearly. Technology supports our planning, but the conversation remains centred on you: what matters to you, what is suitable and what you feel ready to do next. YOUR FIRST VISIT Our Signature Assessment ✦ is for patients ready to understand their options fully. This 90-minute appointment with Dr Keely combines a Smile Design discussion, comprehensive dental examination, 3D scan, clinical photographs and clinically appropriate X-rays. We discuss your treatment options and itemised costs on the day, with a personalised written report afterwards. The assessment costs £450, with a £225 deposit deducted from the total. Any treatment is priced separately, and there is no obligation to proceed. If you are still exploring, a Smile Design consultation offers time to meet the team, discuss your goals and consider your next step. A comprehensive examination is needed before suitability can be confirmed and a formal treatment plan prepared. Standalone Smile Design appointments are released in limited numbers through our VIP Waitlist.
