Harbour Care Centre

This nursing home in Portishead always has such vitality. There is always something going on for my mother and although she quite nervous at first about becoming a residents, she now has new friends and every day there is something for her to do. Sally the activities lady is a blessing with what she lays on for the residents. She really goes out of her way to make sure everyone is engaged and happy. I have joined in several times to help out and have really enjoyed the day. The day I helped we went to the local Starbucks who invited us around for tea and cake. The local pub is a popular trip out and they have even started going fishing down at the marina in Portishead. They have also started going swimming again at the local baths. Wonderful stuff. The carers are in the main from the sub-continent and are hugely respectful and gentle. Staff live on the top floor, so there is always staff on hand and many of them have been there since my mother joined over a year ago. You really get to know them with that continuity.
